This is labeled as a Supertone Orchestra King, which appears to be a fancy version of a Challenger by William Lange.  It is even stamped Challenger on the dowel stick.  So, this could have been marketed under the Supertone name by a jobber.  This banjo sounds as good as it looks.  It has great volume and punch and will easily cut through at a session.

Neck - 5 piece maple with rosewood fingerboard, 22-3/4" scale, 19 frets, frets were leveled, crowned, and polished, some minor fingerboard divots and missing binding after fret 8 on the treble side, gold Page E tuners

Rim - Maple with attached gold plated resonator.  The resonator rotates to allow the sound to come out the front or sides.  It has a new Clareen head.  The tailpiece and bridge look to be non-original but are gold-plated.

Setup - It has a new maple/ebony bridge and nickel strings.  The action is low .080" at the 12th fret and the neck is straight.  The banjo plays great with a nice slim neck profile.

Case - this came in an oversized polyfoam case.  A case could be provided at an additional cost or you could have a case sent to me for shipping.

Notes - the gold does show its age and some tarnish, some of the gold plating is missing from the hooks.  String ends left long during setup and will be trimmed after final inspection and setup prior to shipping.  There are a few names of prior owners listed inside.  There is also a "diamond" inlayed into the top of peghead.  I can also have the gold parts replated for an additional cost.
