This is a Weymann Orchestra Style No. 2 in excellent condition. The original finish has aged to a beautiful golden color perfectly accenting the "flamed" maple wood and pearl inlay on the peghead. With a serial number of 45542 with is a late model made around 1930. The resonator has the desirable flange attached and it also has the marquetry on the sidewall. A vintage 5 Star clear head was installed to show off the dyed "flamed" maple on the inside of the resonator. Included in the original bridge, skin head (not pictured), bracket wrench, and key.
Neck - the 19 fret neck is made of maple with a 5 piece center stripe and mutli-colored fingerboard underlay and backstrap. The fingerboard is ebony with white side binding and 7 mother of pearl inlays.
Rim - the "Megaphonic" rim is made of maple and capped with rosewood, the top has the "silver flash". The "pop-off" resonator is curly maple with rosewood binding and multi-piece marquetry.
Setup - This is setup in GDAE tuning.
Case - Original case in excellent condition.
Notes - The nickel plating is in excellent condition. There are 2 areas of wear from the resonator on the side of the rim which is very common on Weymann banjos. The "neck brace and action adjuster" makes it easy to raise or lower the action. The dowel stick has a bow from the action adjuster but is stable.
