This Majestic was restored by Dan Shingler in 2023 and had very little playing time after the work was completed.
Neck - The neck is made with Brazilian Rosewood with two 3 piece laminations and a 2 color backtrap. The peghead has beautiful mother of pearl inlay and a white cellluloid underlay which creates a unique look. The fingerboard is rosewood with 8 mother of pearl inlays.
Rim - The rim is multiply maple with Brazilain Rosewood veneer. This Majestic contains the heavy archtop tone ring, the best in my opinion. The "domed" flange sits inside the resonator side walls. The most beautiful aspect of this banjo is the resonator. There is extensive marquetry and purfling along with wooden inlays, not to mention the beautiful rosewood as well.
Setup - This is setup in GDAE tuning. It currently has a Remo Renaissance head on it, but that can be switched for bottom frosted white or cloudy at the buyers request. The action is low and easy to play with the thin neck.
Case - includes non-original case
Notes - there is an old, and stable, repair made to the neck at the peghead. There are also a few old repairs made to the resonator that are difficult to see and photograph. The frets are new and there is a minor bit of relief in the neck. There are new tuners installed and the old screw holes were filled. It comes with the original armrest that is not installed. There is a thin shim in the neck to lower the action. There is filler by the A on the peghead which is a little lighter than the wood.
