Very early (earliest recorded serial number at the time of posting) Weymann 1500 tenor banjo.  This was the highest model made which eventually became the Orchestra Style No. 2 soon after when the Orchestra line was launched.

This banjo features the Weymann Megaphonic rim and pop off resonator made of maple.  It has an "ebonized" fingerboard with side binding and red/green/red lamintations under the binding and peghead and backstrap.  It has ebony inlay on the top and bottom of the rim, and rosewood binding on the rim and resonator.

We did the following work to this banjo: replaced a few frets and leveled, crowned, and polished those needing it, oiled the fingerboard, fabricated new resonator attachment hardward replicating original Weymann parts, new strings, head, and bridge, installed new planetary tuners, cleaned all parts.  We "rejuvenated" the finish with a french polishing.

This banjo does have a repaired crack to the peghead.  There was a previous repair that broke again so we removed that repair, installed a metal bar, and a new hardwood patch for added strength.  This was all stained and refinished to disguise the repair a best as possible.  While it's not totally invisible, it's not very noticeable.

This does not have an original case.  Please contact for case options available for purchase and/or shipping.
