Here is a very nice Weymann Orchestra Style No. 1, serial number 42747. The original shellac finish with its beautiful aged golden patina really pops on this banjo. We gave it just a slight rejuvenation through a shellac based french polish to bring back its true beauty. The frets were replaced, leveled, and dressed. There is a new Clareen head, new strings, and new tailpiece. This banjo has plenty of volume and crack to be heard at a session.
Neck - 3 piece made of mahogany with center stripe and ebony fingerboard with celluloid binding. The scale is 22" with 19 frets. There are beautiful mother of pearl inlays on the fingerboard and peghead.
Rim - 11" mahogany megaphonic style with rosewood top and bottom rim cap and celluloid binding.
Resonator - pop off made of mahogany with celluloid binding, missing original flange
Hardware - all original nickel plated. Original 4:1 recessed Weymann tuners were cleaned and re-greased, original rosewood armrest, original tailpiece with cover.
Case - original case with zippered lining and key
Notes - Because this maintains its original finish there are still a few small scratches and dings. The case has tape on the handle.
