Freshly restored and setup this banjo is ready for some tunes. With its slim neck, lighter weight, and adjustable resonator this is a great playing banjo.
Neck - 5 piece American walnut with red/green/red center stripe, 19 frets with a 22-3/4" scale length, nut width is 1.12", new frets, original Page E tuners in good working condition. The neck is straight with a low action, .080" at the 12th fret.
Rim - Made of American walnut with multi-colored laminations and purfling. The tone ring consists of 2 flat brass hoops on the inner and outer edge of the rim in an archtop formation. The resonator rotates within itself to allow the sound to project to the front or side and anywhere in-between. It has a new Clareen smooth white head and a new tailpiece. The hooks are non-original.
Setup - It has new nickel strings 12, 18w, 28w, 38w with a low action measuring .080" at the 12th fret and is easily adjustable at the end of the dowel stick. There is a new maple ebony bridge installed.
Case - there is an old chipboard case that will be used for shipping. You can also purchase a different case if you like.
The top of the back of the headstock was patched as you can see in the pictures. There is one small screw and nut missing on the back of the resonator. The dowel bracket was moved before we bought it and works well in the position so we left it as is. Overall this banjo is in very good condition. The nickel on the resonator lost a little bit of its original mirror-like finish over the past 90 years.
