This Challenger was built by William Lange in NYC in the 1920/30 era. It features a unique resonator design which allows the player to moderate the direction of the sounds.

Neck - 5 piece American walnut with red/green/red center stripe, 19 frets with a 22-3/4" scale length, nut width is 1.12", new frets, original Page E tuners in good working condition.  The neck is straight with a low action, .080" at the 12th fret.

Rim - Made of American walnut with multi-colored laminations and purfling.  The tone ring consists of 2 flat brass hoops on the inner and outer edge of the rim in an archtop formation.  The resonator rotates within itself to allow the sound to project to the front or side and anywhere in-between.

Setup - It has new nickel strings 12, 18w, 28w, 38w with a low action measuring .070" at the 12th fret and is easily adjustable at the end of the dowel stick.  There is a new maple ebony bridge installed.  It has a Remo White Suede head installed.

Case - comes with a vintage case that could be original.

The frets were leveled and dressed. The nickel is in excellect condition except for a few hooks that contain some minor rust. There is some finish missing on the back of the neck from playing wear. There is some finish aging at the heel area. The case has the black fabric missing on a spot on the bottom and the side.
