Clareen Oyster tenor banjo made by Tom Cussen in 2003 in Galway, Ireland. This banjo is in excellent condition. It has a 19 fret, 23” scale maple neck, ebony fingerboard with fancy abalone inlays. The neck is straight, the frets are in great shape with no wear marks, the action is low, and with the thin shape it plays effortlessly. The rim is thick and made of maple with a Clareen archtop tone ring. The resonator is maple and this model includes individual butterfly flanges. The banjo comes with new Gotoh tuners and the original Tensionator tailpiece. There is currently a black Clareen head installed, but a used white Clareen head will also be included. It will ship with a different maple/ebony bridge than is pictured and will be setup ready to play. I did the setup and have played the banjo for the past year. It is one amazing banjo, built many years ago when the quality was top notch! It also comes with a Clareen case with keys. There is a small ⅛” dent on the back of the resonator which is the only flaw I see besides a little crazing of the finish by the tuners. All of my banjos ship properly packed and insured!
