Amazing all original Epiphone Recording A tenor banjo. This is one of the most desirable banjos for Irish trad and rare to find in this condition. The neck is made from walnut with 19 frets and a 23" scale. The fingerboard is ebony and the frets appear original with very minor wear. This neck has a "surgical steel" rod embedded in it. The original tuners work great. The rim and resonator are also walnut and has a very heavy flange.
It is setup with D'Addario nickel strings in GDAE tuning and a standard 3 leg bridge. The action is set low at .070" at the 12th fret. The original head has been replaced with a new Remo Cloudy head.
The condition of this banjo is stunning. The nickel looks new with great shine and very few imperfections. There are a few scratches on the back of the resonator and a few spots where you can see some finish checking. The original finish was coming off the inlay of the peghead so that has been refinished to match the original appearance.
Includes the original case and Epiphone stamped bridge.
