This is an all original, one owner, Langstile Deluxe in near mint condition. It is one of the nicest original banjos to come through the Trad Banjo shop. Included in the sale are a music book with the original owners name, his Social Security number is etched on the rim just below the head, the original hide head, and the original tailpiece.
Neck - The neck is made of walnut with a 5 piece center lamination. It has a rosewood fingerboard and white fingerboard binding and 7 inlays. It has the original frets that show minimal wear. The peghead is also rosewood with pearl inlays. It has the original Page geared tuners in good working order.
Rim - The rim is veneered with walnut and has a maple rim cap. There is a multicolored marquetry on the outside of the rim. The tone ring is flat brass bar with large holes in it. The rim also has sound ports through the rim. There is a heavy brass flange to which the top tension bolts attach. The resonator is also veneered with walnut and has a matching marquetry on the side.
Setup - This is setup for Irish trad playing with nickel strings, new bottom frosted white Remo head, new maple/ebony bridge and a Waverly style tailpiece.
Case - Original case in excellent condition.
Notes - Under the right light and close inspection you can see minor crazing in the finish.
