This Ludwig is in amazing original condition and is one of the cleanest banjos to come through our shop in many years. These are very underrated in the Irish traditional music playing community and offer excellent value. There is no shortage of volume packed in these with the double tone projector as found on all higher end Ludwig models.
Neck - made of walnut with a 5 piece center stripe, the 2 screws at the heel allow for easy adjustment to the action height. The original Ludwig "Planet" tuners are highly sought after and worth $150. The fingerboard is solid ebony with mother of pearl inlays.
Rim - the rim is nickel-plated metal with the double tone projector design and integrated flange. The resonator is made of walnut and detaches from the rim by a turn of the center nut.
Setup - This Capitol Special is setup for Irish playing, tuned GDAE with nickel strings.
Case - Original Ludwig case with the key in excellent condition
Notes - There are a few marks on the back of the resonator and checking/crazing in the original finish. Includes original Ludwig wrench.
