Here is a perfect opportunity to own one of the best trad banjos for great low price. This will make the perfect session banjo or a daily player banjo. This beautiful Leader made by William Lange is not perfect. It has a previously repaired heel break that needed some cosmetic help. It is almost impossible to tell now. There is some "patina" to the nickel plating and many of the hooks are missing the nickel. There was binding missing on the resonator which I have replaced.
The fretboard has been leveled and new frets installed. It has new nickel strings, tuned GDAE, a new bridge, new tailpiece, new tuners, and a new Remo Cloudy head. The neck and resonator were refinished with a french polish shellac. The action is low and it plays great without any buzzing. The action is easily adjustable on this banjo to meet your playing style. It comes with an original "hot dog" style armrest that is missing some nickel from wear. It also comes with a newer style case and the lock key is included.
The Paramount Leader neck, rim, and resonator are made from India rosewood and the fingerboard is rosewood as well. This is a 19 fret 22 3/4" scale length banjo. I played the banjo for over a month before working on it to make sure the neck repair was stable.
