This is a great banjo for the price! This arrived long ago and in much worse shape than expected, so it has been sitting in the pile. I finally decided it wasn't worth the time to restore this banjo, but with a little work, it would make a great player for someone. This banjo has great tone, plenty of volume, and is so easy to play.
Neck - 2 piece maple with ebony center stripe, ebony fingerboard, Weymann silver gray finish
Rim - multi-ply maple with spun over brass tone ring
Setup - Irish trad tuning in GDAE with nice low action which is easy to adjust with the Weymann neck brace/action adjuster
Case - no case included
Notes - New planetary tuners installed, some frets replaced, all frets leveled and dressed, one new shoe and bolt (bolt does not match originals, new hooks and nuts, new tailpiece, new head, finish touched up and buffed smooth, minor patching to wood, new shims made for neck brace connection, resonator is missing. There are some marks on the rim from where the original friction fit resonator fit. The silver gray finish was worn through on the neck and there are other imperfections. There is some brass showing on the tension band.
